How to set the index person (client) on a genogram
The index person, also called the client or identified patient, is the person the genogram is centered on. Genogram Creator highlights them with a glow. The buttons at the bottom of the details panel set the index person and adjust how a person is drawn.
Works the same on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Step by step
- 1
Select the person
Open your genogram and tap the person (click on Mac). Their details panel opens: on the right on iPad and Mac, sliding up from the bottom on iPhone.
- 2
Tap the crown
At the bottom of the details panel, tap the crown button. The person gets a highlight around their symbol. Tap it again to remove it. Setting a new index person clears the previous one, unless they are partners.
- 3
Adjust size or fade someone out
Use S, Std and L above the crown to make a symbol smaller or larger. The eye button fades a person to make them less prominent without deleting them. The trash button deletes them after asking.
