iPhone, iPad and Mac
One genogram app, every device you own
Genogram Creator is a single universal App Store listing. One download, one subscription, and the same genogram file opens on iPhone, iPad and Mac — each laid out for the device it runs on rather than scaled from one design.

Three devices, three different jobs
A genogram is built, revised and written up in different places. Each build is designed for the moment you reach for that device.
iPhone
Between appointments
- Contextual bottom toolbar with a scrolling tool track
- Pull-up inspector that opens as a peek, not a takeover
- Tap a person and the canvas comes to them
- Opens already framed on the family in the file
iPad
In session
- Multitouch drag and pinch across generations
- Apple Pencil annotation directly on the canvas
- The whole four-generation canvas visible at once
- Natural to hand to a client and map together
Mac
At your desk
- Full keyboard and trackpad control
- Native on Apple Silicon — no emulation, no Parallels
- Large-display layout for wide, dense family systems
- The one for documentation and the write-up
What stays the same everywhere
The layout changes with the device. The document, the symbol set, the exports and the privacy posture do not.
One download, not three
A single universal App Store listing. Install it on a new device and it is already the app you paid for.
One subscription
Standard or Unlimited covers iPhone, iPad and Mac on the same Apple ID, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
One file format
A genogram built on any device opens unchanged on the others. Move it through Files, iCloud Drive or AirDrop.
The same 100+ symbols
Standardized clinical notation for gender, vital status, conditions and emotional bonds — identical everywhere.
The same exports
PNG, PDF, SVG, GEDCOM, JSON and the Family Report on every device, plus printing through AirPrint.
The same privacy posture
Local storage, no account, no analytics, no third-party SDKs. Nothing leaves the device unless you export it.
How it works in practice
Build it on iPad, in the room
Map the family live with the client. Multitouch to drag, pinch to move across generations, Apple Pencil to annotate.
Adjust it on iPhone, afterwards
A detail comes up between sessions. Open the file on your phone, tap the person, and the canvas comes to them — no laptop required.
Export it on Mac, for the file
Keyboard and a large display for the final pass, then a high-resolution PDF, PNG or SVG for documentation, or a Family Report for the case notes.
The file moves through Files, iCloud Drive or AirDrop — your choice, and nothing passes through our servers.
Common questions
Which devices does Genogram Creator run on?
iPhone, iPad and Mac. It is a single universal App Store listing, so there is one app to download rather than a separate purchase per platform. iPhone support ships in version 1.2.0, and iOS and iPadOS 17 or later are required.
Do I need a separate subscription for each device?
No. One subscription covers iPhone, iPad and Mac on the same Apple ID. New subscribers get a 7-day free trial, and Standard is $49.99/year with Unlimited at $99.99/year.
Does the same genogram open on all three?
Yes. Every device reads and writes the same file format, so a genogram built on iPad opens unchanged on iPhone or Mac. Move the file through Files, iCloud Drive, or AirDrop — there is no account and nothing syncs through our servers.
Is the iPhone version a cut-down companion app?
No. The same 100+ clinical symbols, the same relationship types, the same templates and every export are all present on iPhone. What changed is the chrome around the canvas — a contextual bottom toolbar and a pull-up inspector, designed for a phone rather than scaled down from an iPad.
Which device should I use for what?
iPad is the one to build on and hand to a client in session, with multitouch and Apple Pencil. iPhone is for capturing and adjusting a family between appointments, one-handed. Mac is for the write-up afterwards, with keyboard, trackpad and a large display.
Is there a Windows or browser version?
Genogram Creator itself is an Apple app. If you need Windows or a browser, GenogramAI.com is the web app from the same team and uses the same file format.
