Privacy Policy

Summary

Genogram Creator is a privacy-first app for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Android. Your genograms never leave your device. Everything you create — names, family relationships, medical history, emotional notes — stays on your device. There is no account, no cloud sync to our servers, no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs (the Android app includes only Google Play Billing). On iPhone, iPad, and Mac, the only thing the app ever sends us is a problem report that you choose to send (see below). If you watch a tutorial video, the App streams it from genogramcreator.com like any web page; our server logs that request, which contains nothing from your genograms. The Android app sends us nothing at all; see Android (Google Play) below.

What we collect

We do not collect, store, transmit, or share:

• Personal information (name, phone, address), except an email address you choose to include in a problem report
• Genogram content (people, relationships, medical history, notes, secrets, attachments)
• Usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry
• Device identifiers (advertising ID, IDFA, IDFV, Android advertising ID)
• Location data
• Photos, contacts, or other system data

Problem reports you choose to send

The app has a “Report a problem” form. Nothing is sent unless you fill it in and tap Send. A report contains only:

• The message you type
• Your email address, only if you enter one so we can reply
• Basic diagnostics, which you can see and switch off in the form: app version, device model, system version, free storage, and language

Reports never include your genograms or anything in them. Please don't type client names or other private details into a report. Reports go through our own server to our support inbox and are used only to answer you and fix problems. They are not used for advertising or tracking and are not sold or shared. If you'd rather not use the form, you can email us instead.

Where your data lives

Your genograms are stored locally in the app's Documents directory on your device. On iPhone and iPad you can access them through the Files app, where they appear under “On My iPhone” or “On My iPad” → Genogram Creator. If you enable iCloud Drive for the Files app (a system-level choice you control in Settings), Apple may sync those files to your personal iCloud account — that sync is between you and Apple and we have no access to it.

In-App Purchases and subscriptions

Genogram Creator offers two optional auto-renewing subscriptions (“Standard Annual” and “Unlimited Annual”) through Apple's StoreKit framework. Purchase, billing, and subscription state are handled entirely by Apple — we never see your payment information, your Apple ID, or your billing details. The App checks with Apple, on your device, whether you have an active subscription. Separately, Apple sends us App Store Server Notifications about subscription events (such as a renewal, cancellation, or refund). These contain an anonymous transaction ID, the product, price, country or region, and dates, and no name, email address, or Apple ID. We keep them to handle billing and refund questions.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time: on iPhone or iPad in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions; on Mac in the App Store app → [your name] → Account Settings → Subscriptions.

Apple's required privacy disclosures

The app uses UserDefaults (via SwiftUI @AppStorage) to remember small in-app preferences like whether you've seen the introductory tutorial. This is declared in our app's privacy manifest under reason code CA92.1 — “Access info available only to the app itself.” This data never leaves your device.

Android (Google Play)

This section covers the Android version of Genogram Creator (com.carbonapps.genogramcreator), published by C6 Labs LLC on Google Play. Where it differs from the sections above, this section applies to Android. The Android app does not currently have a “Report a problem” form or tutorial videos, so it sends nothing to us or to genogramcreator.com.

Storage

Your genograms are stored only on your device, in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. There is no account, no cloud sync to our servers, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking. Exports (PDF, PNG, or JSON) go only where you send them using the Android share sheet; what happens to a shared file is then up to you and the app or service you shared it with.

Billing and subscriptions

The app offers two optional auto-renewing subscriptions (“Standard Annual” and “Unlimited Annual”), with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers, processed by Google Play Billing. Google Play Billing is the only third-party component in the app and its only network use: Google Play, on your device, looks up products and prices, handles purchases, and checks whether you have an active subscription. We never see your payment details or your Google account. We do not currently receive Google Play real-time developer notifications about your subscription. You can cancel at any time in the Google Play Store app → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Google's privacy policy governs Google Play: policies.google.com/privacy.

Notifications

If you start a free trial, the app may ask whether it can show a single reminder notification 2 days before the trial ends. It asks only after a trial starts, and you can decline. The reminder is scheduled on your device; nothing is sent to us or to any notification service.

• Google Play BILLING for subscriptions

The app does not request location, contacts, camera, or storage permissions.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling the app deletes all of its data from your device. Nothing is held on our servers, so there is nothing for us to delete. Files you exported and shared outside the app are not affected by uninstalling it. Uninstalling does not cancel a subscription; cancel it in Google Play as described above.

Children

Genogram Creator is designed for adults — clinicians, social workers, family therapists, genealogists, and the family-curious. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Third parties

We use no third-party SDKs, no third-party analytics, no third-party advertising frameworks, and no third-party servers. The app communicates with Apple's StoreKit for subscription processing, and with our own server only when you send a problem report. On Android, the only third-party component is Google Play Billing (see Android (Google Play)). Apple's privacy policy governs the Apple interaction: apple.com/legal/privacy.

Your rights and choices

We hold no genogram data, so there is nothing of that kind for us to delete, export, or correct. If you sent a problem report and want it deleted, email us and we will remove it. To remove all genogram data, delete the Genogram Creator app from your device — the app's data is removed with it. (Files you copied or shared outside the app, such as PNG/PDF exports, are not affected by deleting the app.)

If you have enabled iCloud Drive sync for Files, copies of your genograms may exist in your iCloud account; manage those through iOS Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this document. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
