How to show social class on a genogram
Social class is recorded per person in the Social Class section and shown as a small green scale at the bottom-left of their symbol, so differences across a family stand out at a glance.
Works the same on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Step by step
- 1
Select the person
Open your genogram and tap the person (click on Mac). Their details panel opens: on the right on iPad and Mac, sliding up from the bottom on iPhone.
- 2
Open Social Class
Tap Social Class. On iPhone, tap the Social Class chip.
- 3
Choose a class
Pick Upper, Upper Middle, Middle, Working or Poverty. Tap the selected option again to clear it.

- 4
Check the Social view
The scale shows while the Social view is on (it is on by default), and the legend explains it. Tap Views (the layers button in the toolbar on iPad and Mac, or the More tools menu (…) on iPhone) to turn it on or off.
